THE St Breward Silver Band recently held its awards and presentation evening at The Old Inn, St Breward.

Thanks to Darren, Teresa and Norman, yet another fine meal was served, which was followed by the awards ceremony, when three silver trophies suitably inscribed were presented.

For ‘best attendance’ at both rehearsals and engagements combined, the award was presented by musical director Mr Tom Howard to Alan Wonnacott.

For the ‘players’ player’, voted for by the members themselves, the award was presented to Clair Teague and the award for ‘outstanding musical achievement’ was presented to Abbie Myles.

All winners were taken by surprise — but all were thoroughly deserved.

The presentations were followed by a short 30-minute quiz, when teams were asked to provide answers to 50 questions covering sport, the meaning of initials, product names, all answers to the next ten questions began with the letter G and finally another sport related quiz where peopled had to guess what sport each of the personalities were famous for.

A very enjoyable evening was had by all who attended and some ideas were discussed for consideration next year.
