OFFICERS and councillors from Torridge District Council will once again be attending Holsworthy Agricultural Show today (Thursday), to meet with the public, and with a focus on recycling and reducing waste that ends up in landfill.

People will be able to go along and find out about the different materials that can now be recycled, how to compost more effectively and how to help improve the environment by producing less waste.

The council’s planning team will also be on hand to answer general queries and give advice relating to development and the planning application process. They also want to hear people’s views on other council services and information from other services will also be available for people to take away and read.

Cllr James Morrish, lead member for waste and recycling and deputy leader, said: “It’s now over a year since the council implemented an all new in-house kerbside recycling service from scratch, and I’m pleased to say that the general feedback has been very good. However we also want to continue gathering views from more people and this is an opportunity to come along and discuss things with representatives from the council.”
