THE All Blacks were camped for long periods in the Shelford half and were far superior in the ruck, particularly driving maul, scored four tries but lost with home centre Taniela Bakoso getting the late decisive try.
In the last four minutes trailing by three points they drove repeatedly at the home line while the Cambridgeshire men endlessly spoiled. It is at such moments that refereeing becomes the deciding factor.
Where the All Blacks failed perhaps was with some missed tackles and occasionally a failure to capitalise on sustained pressure.
There was a personal kicking battle between the All Black right wing Kieron Lewitt and home fly half Harry Owens. Lewitt bagged 20 points and must have been in contention, along with lose head prop Tim Mathias who had a superb game, for Man of the Match.
