THE Post Office at Boscastle has re-opened in its new location at Boscastle Spar, Penally Hill.
The post office, which re-opened last Tuesday, March 22, at 1pm, will be open from Monday to Sunday, 8am to 7pm.
Boscastle Post Office closed temporarily in June 2015, due to resignation of the Postmaster and the withdrawal of the premises for Post Office use.
The service was restored after the post office appointed Rebecca Harrison, owner of the Spar, as postmaster.
The Spar Convenience store is approximately 75 metres from the previously branch.
During public consultation the Post Office said it received a small number of comments from customers all in support of the move.
It added the feedback welcomed the retention of the Post Office and the more modern branch that the proposed move would provide.
Ms Harrison said: “We appreciate Boscastle does need to keep its post office. It’s been quite hard for people not to have a post office here for 10 months.”
She added the branch is a Local Plus Post Office with a range of services.
Julia Marwood, regional manager said: “We are delighted to be able to restore post office services to Boscastle. We understand how important having a post office is to residents in Boscastle and we are confident that this new modern post office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.”
