AFTER the death of Jenny Morritt's husband eight years ago, she decided that she wanted to do something for the Macmillan cancer support charity, as they had provided support for her late husband.

As a result, Jenny ran a coffee morning in the village, however she still felt that she wanted to do something else and following a conversation with the kitchen staff at Shebbear school who suggested a recipe book, the project has now grown immensely.

Jenny, of Shebbear, explained that after starting with just six recipes, it is now a completed book including recipes from chef Rick Stein, 'Dan the Fish Man' of Clovelly and recipes from Shebbear residents. Lorna Wyard, helped Jenny print the recipes and Richard Clark, who had published a previous book for the village, helped to publish the recipe book.

The printing of the books has now been completed and there are just six boxes of 30 left from the 1,000 printed.

Three years this September since the project began, a total of £1,000 has been raised for Macmillan Cancer Support, all profits from the book.

Jenny will be selling the book, made up of original and everyday recipes, at the Shebbear Flower Show on July 24. Jenny said: "I am really pleased, we have done very well."
