Following on from the campaign we are running to ensure that TV Licensing stop harassing local people, I was surprised to see the most recent article 'Halloween visits from TV Licensing' (the 'Post', October 30).

Not content with sending threatening letters to elderly residents who have paid for a TV Licence, this 'trick or treat' promise is indeed very 'unwelcome'. I paid a visit on Saturday to a retired couple in Lifton who had just received two threatening letters from TV Licensing.

They had moved, and transferred their licences to the house they were living in, yet had still received 'threats' that TV Licensing would take action against them.

So, I could only surmise from this article, that TV Licensing were intending to personally harass elderly people like the ones I visited, on a night which most elderly people fear the most. Shameful does not describe it adequately!

TV Licensing need to sort themselves and their systems out and stop harassing people who are not breaking the law. If you are having problems with TV Licensing, call me on 01237 422032.
