A?CHANCE remark at a funeral led to a reunion in Chilsworthy Village Hall recently for more than 60 members of the Shadrick family of Holsworthy.

Family member Rose Shadrick said: “At a recent funeral a chance remark that ‘it’s a shame we only seem to get together at funerals’ brought about a Shadrick family reunion in Chilsworthy Village Hall.

“More than 60 descendents of Thomas and Lavinia Shadrick, of Great Lakes Farm — and their 13 children — shared many photos, memorabilia and a lot of conversation.

“Everyone there had an enjoyable evening reminiscing and for some, filling in gaps in their family trees.”
