A PHANTOM flasher is being hunted by police after exposing himself on three separate occasions in and around Abergavenny.
The elusive grey-haired offender, reckoned to be in his 60s, has struck near the Pen y Fal estate in the town and at Pandy.
His latest bout of exhibitionism was at the canal bridge in Govilon on Sunday afternoon when he was seen to be fiddling with himself.
Police are anxious to catch the culprit before he commits another act of gross indecency in a public place.
His campaign of lewd self-gratification started three weeks ago in the lay-by at Pandy.
He was fully clothed at the time, unlike his second appearance when he indulged himself in full nudity on a lane at Ross Road leading to the Pen y Fal estate.
The naked nuisance was seen by a woman to run off from Chesnut Drive towards Ross Road at about 5.45pm on April 15, a Wednesday.
His Govilon showing happened at 2.50pm just four days later when he was seen behaving badly on the canal by a male walker.
He was said to be about 5ft 10ins tall, slimly built and in his late 50s to early 60s.
The witness said he had short grey hair and was wearing a reddish-pink coat and blue jeans.
The physical description matched that given in the two earlier sightings.
Police rushed to the scene after the alarm was raised - but an extensive search of the area failed to find the offender.
Abergavenny's police commander Insp Huw Jones said the person being sought was not thought to be a danger to the public.
But he did urge people not to approach him.
"We would appeal to the public for any information they may have about this individual. We would like to catch him sooner rather than later," he told the Chronicle.
Anyone who may know the identity of the man should ring police on 101 as a matter of urgency.
All three witnesses so far have been adults.
Police are hoping to release an artist's impression of the man they would like to speak to.
