A TOWN council has been given comprehensive details of works to sewers that have to be undertaken by March 2015, writes Amy Dennis. Andy Young from South West Water gave Launceston Town Councillors and members of the public information booklets with plans detailing the location of the works and the types of repair required at the latest full council meeting. He told the meeting that certain sewers are in poor condition and if not repaired soon, blockages may result. Work on sewers in what were described as the 'periphery residential' areas of the town is due to start around the end of July, Mr Young and a colleague from Glanville Environmental, Norman Turnock, sought feedback from the council on the start date for the sewers they were more concerned about, namely the work that has to be carried out on Westgate Street.
