MORE than 40 residents attended the annual Camelford senior citizens’ Christmas lunch on Saturday.

Town mayor Claire Hewlett, and her fellow councillors, welcomed over 40 people to the Christmas lunch.

The wonderful meal was cooked by Peggy Ellison and her team of helpers, and was served by some of the Camelford Brownies who worked hard to ensure all diners received a delicious lunch and had a lovely afternoon.

During the meal, the diners were entertained by the Primary School Choir and North Coast Harmony, who performed some lovely festive songs.

They were also joined by Lloyd, a representative from Sir James Smith’s School Council, who chatted to lots of the older residents and ‘did his school proud’, according to Cllr Hewlett.

She said: “My favourite moment was the Primary School Choir — my own children are grown up, so it was lovely to hear the children sing, especially Away in a Manger — gets me every time.”

Santa made a visit towards the end of the meal, and everyone went home with a couple of mince pies.
