IT was a sell-out for the second lunch for senior citizens at Camelford Primary School on Saturday.

Fifty people were treated to a full two course Christmas dinner, with teas and coffees, and two homemade mine pies each to take home or enjoy after the meal — this year’s gift from Father Christmas.

There was entertainment from Camelford Primary School Choir, who sang five songs, Stuart Biddick, who played keyboard, and from elves ‘Twinkle Toes’ and ‘Jingle Balls’.

Camelford Town Council contributed a hamper for the grand prize draw, and Boots of Camelford donated a Laura Ashley gift set worth £40. Local businesses also gave more than 20 raffle prizes.

Town councillor Kirsty Ferguson, chairman of the events committee, said: “It was brilliant, definitely a nice atmosphere — and Father Christmas made an appearance!

“It was really successful this year. We will absolutely do it again next year.”
