THE Springer Spaniel at Treburley has been recognised for its high standard of cooking by joining 60 new entries to this year’s Eating Out In Pubs Guide.
The guide recommends more than 590 pubs, all chosen by a team of inspectors.
Book editor Rebecca Burr said: “This is a carefully selected group of pubs, chosen for the standard of their cooking.
“Each of them has been anonymously judged by our team of full-time inspectors, and we feel justly proud of them.
“The great news is that our pubs are spread all over Great Britain and Ireland.
“Stretching from Kylesku in the North of Scotland to Newlyn in the far South of England; and from Southwold in the East of England, to Cahersiveen in the West of Ireland.”
She added: “There’s no denying that there continues to be a demand for good quality food in the relaxed setting of the local pub.”
“We are seeing more and more pubs serving flexible all-day menus, with some even incorporating breakfast, brunch and afternoon tea into their expanding repertoires. The pub industry should be congratulated for moving with the times.”
Other Cornish pubs in the guide include the Ship Inn in Wadebridge, the Cornish Arms in St Merryn, and the Tolcarne Inn in Newlyn. In Devon, the Cornish Arms in Tavistock has also made it into the guide.
