CORNWALL Council has sent plans to St Stephen's Community Academy on three different options for providing more primary school places in Launceston.
Town councillor Paul O'Brien, who is the chairman of the board of directors of An Daras Multi Academy Trust, which administers St Stephen's Community and Windmill Hill academies, said at a recent council meeting that one option is a 'permanent building' that would be 'quite a sizeable extension'.
Speaking after the meeting Cllr O'Brien said: "There are three alternatives being considered. We will be talking to representatives of Cornwall Council to try and sort out the one that suits."
The Post reported (July 24) that Liberal Democrat Cornwall Councillor for Launceston Central Alex Folkes told town councillors that the shortfall of primary school places in the town would be much larger next September.
