SADIE Monk, from Bude, passed away last year after a battle with cancer, aged 22.
Last August, the Brendon Arms Golf Society (BAGS) and Bude and North Cornwall Golf Club held a charity golf day along with donations from The Bay of Bengal Indian Restaurant, Holsworthy, businesses, and private donations.
More than £3,000, was raised and the funds were donated on Sunday, April 17, as Sadie wished — to CLIC Sargent and the Yarty Ward (Exeter Oncology Ward) both received £1,500.
Also on Sunday, the Rev David Barnes dedicated a memorial seat in Sadie’s memory. The seat is in the graveyard of St Michael and All Angels Church, Bude.
The Brendon Arms Golf Society also received a new golf trophy to be played for annually, to raise funds for cancer charities.
The annual event will take place on or as near to Sadie’s birthday as possible.
