THE condition of a male seal pup, rescued from Middle Beach, Bude, is improving.
The 23kg pup was rescued on Monday, January 4, and has been named ‘Pie Face’.
He was conveyed to the local vets by Ado Shorland, a British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) medic, who runs Widemouth Task Force, and Rory Sacree, also a BDMLR medic.
Mr Shorland said on the Widemouth Task Force’s Facebook page: “He was admitted to Gweek with puncture wounds to his flippers, a low temperature and lungworm.
“With the great care the seal sanctuary provides, he has made improvements and is now in a pool and feeding well.
“Thank you to everyone involved in the rescue and for the quick report to BDLMR.
