PEOPLE in Bude are encouraging other residents to invest in reusable, seagull-proof bags to ensure mess and litter is not strewn across the streets.
Environmental action groups, as well as the mayor of Bude-Stratton, are encouraging residents of Bude to purchase a seagull-proof bag for their households, which is reusable, to bag up litter to be taken away each recycling day.
The bags are being sold for £3.50 at Bude Library, at Lower Wharf, on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 9.30am until 5pm.
With increased tourism, rubbish and litter tends to build up during the summer months, creating a haven for seagulls.
These bags are reusable and prevent seagulls from getting into them and dropping litter on the streets.
