THE last outdoor event of the season, Bude Sea Pool’s annual dog show, was a huge success once again.

Hot drinks and cakes were provided by the fantastic bunch of volunteers and helpers as well as the odd ‘Bonio’ for the dogs. Entries and cake sales raised over £325 for the charity.

People came from far and wide and even arranged their holiday in Bude to coincide with the dog show.

Not normally permitted in Bude Sea Pool, after the show owners and their dogs were allowed to go into Bude Sea Pool for a once-only swim and fun paddle.

Prizes were awarded for categories, including Best Veteran, Prettiest Bitch, Most Handsome Dog, Best Rescue, Dog that looks most like its owner, Most Adorable Puppy (4-18 months), Waggiest Tail, Fastest Bonio Eater, Best Junior Handler and Best in Show.

The difficult task of judging was undertaken by Tamar Vets Richard Gale and John Highet — each category winner went on to be judged as Best in Show, which was won by Kira, a Japanese Akita.

It was great fun, with a great turn out and amazing weather. The Friends of Bude Sea Pool have extended a huge thank you to everybody involved.
