BUDE Sea Pool is hoping for a grant of up to £5,000 through Calor Gas’ funding scheme.

Calor Gas is offering grants of up to £5,000 for projects that will provide an ongoing service for local communities. Rural communities with projects off the mains gas grid have been invited to submit a project for funding. The projects that receive the most votes on Calor’s website will be shortlisted and reviewed by a panel of judges, who will select winning projects for funding.

Bude Sea Pool has applied for a £5,000 grant to purchase water pool fun equipment, including floating water play mats, water slides, kayaks and canoes, large zorb balls, and other health and safety approved water play equipment.

Bude Sea Pool also hopes to purchase wetsuits for families to loan on a daily basis, which would encourage more children to take the plunge, especially out of season.

The play equipment would be stored in the large Friends of Bude Sea Pool hub at the water’s edge and loaned daily by the pool staff. Children will be supervised at all times using the equipment and wetsuits.

No charge will be made for the loan of the play equipment or wetsuits, but a refundable deposit would be required to ensure safe return of the equipment and wetsuits.

Voting continues until May 29. To vote, visit www.calor.co.uk/communityfund/bude-sea-pool-community-play-equipment
