THE 1st Linkinhorne Scouts group recently completed the Coast-to-Coast Walk.

The Beavers started work on the igloo (yet again) also played games such as North South East West, knights and dragons, tackled an obstacle course in the Jubilee field on the new equipment and tree and bud identification.

The Cub pack held an entertainment evening in the parish hall and has been in the woods with the Scouts and Explorers; the latter groups have been working towards their Foresters badge and learning the correct use of axes and saws.

St George’s day parade was attended by some of the group. Flag Bearer for the Beavers was Evan Oxenham with other colony members Marla Grimshaw, and Ethan Greenaway, the Cub flag was carried by Alfie Crane accompanied by Johua Pierce, the Scout representative was Taken Goldsmith. Assistant group Scout leader, Richard Doney could not attend as he was at Windsor castle witnessing the Queens Scouts parade. Watch this space for more information!

The Coast-to-Coast team walked thirty-five and a half miles along the old Saints Way a few weeks ago. They started at Padstow and the first day finished at the Eden Project. The next day they finished at Pentewen Sands in a time of fifteen hours and three minutes. Congratulations to everyone of them for a tremendous achievement, Many thanks to Cheryl Parkinson and Ian Turner (the crew) for all their help with the tents, this was a real team effort.
