BUDE Infant School held a tea party to celebrate the dedication, loyalty and friendship of Len Tozer after 17 years of being a school governor.
A school spokesperson said: "Many of you will know Len's infectious smile and sense of humour and we have been blessed to have had him by our side for so many years. He is very passionate about Bude and has campaigned hard, always having the children's best interests at heart.
"Len is a real pillar of the community, with many friends and connections — he even taught many of the current school staff! There is nothing going on in and around Bude that he doesn't know about!
"He is a genuine, kind man who has enriched the school over several years with his extensive local knowledge and his warm heart. He will be greatly missed around school."
Each of the classes gave a special performance dedicated to Len, ranging from singing to dancing to storytelling.
He was then presented with a gift and an apt garden cake by headteacher Sally Gordon, and shared tea, cakes and lots of old stories with staff, parents and pupils past and present.
