PLANS for a major housing development in Launceston were on show for the first time at a public exhibition last week. The scheme is for 129 homes at the Withnoe Farm, site south of the A388 Tavistock road and near the slip-road to the A30. Early last month, an application was submitted to Cornwall Council for pre-application advice for the proposed residential development. Wainhomes land manager Peter Crawford said his company holds public exhibitions for every proposed scheme and that there had been a 'very good response' to the one held at Launceston College last week. He said: "Nobody is coming in with any concerns or objections. "The land is identified in the draft Cornwall Council Local Plan. All development in Launceston is now focused on the southern side, where access is good, near the A30." For the full report, and a round-up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
