THIS year has started with a bang, and that means it’s panto time again for Stoke Climsland, with a brand new Roger Braintree Production!
Actors, writers, producers and designers have been ‘evermore creative’ and are bringing a ‘completely original and hilarious show’ to audiences for 2018 — Alice and A Lad in Pantoland.
When the story opens, Alice, the beautiful and feisty heroine of the piece, is off to help out at the Pop-up-Pasty-Pantry, where various unfortunate lost characters from history and fiction have found refuge with Widow Zpanky — Aladdin is one of these. In the warm atmosphere of the pantry, he sees and falls for Alice.
Meanwhile, the two villains, the Lord High Sheriff of North Hill and his sidekick Mutley, are lining their pockets through threats and extortion. When they are exposed by Alice’s dad, they kidnap poor Alice in revenge!
Who will come to rescue Alice — Tom, Dick and Harry, or the Mad Hatter, March Hare and Dormouse? Will Friar Tuck and Little John lend a hand? Where has the strange and wonderful Refugenie appeared from? Who are the Pussy Posse, and whose side are they on? Will there be a happy ever after?
Dates and times include Friday, February 16 at 7.30pm, and Saturday, February 17 at 7.30pm.
The performance will also take place on Friday, February 23 at 7.30pm and Saturday, February 24 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
Tickets are on sale at Stoke Climsland Post Office at £6.50 for adults and £3 for children.
