YOUNGSTERS from Scallywags Pre School Halwill were joined by the Toddler Group and Reception class from Halwill Primary School for a sponsored walk.
The event was to raise funds for the family of 17-month-old Dudley Wilson, who has Leigh's Disease — a rare, inherited degenerative neurometabolic disorder that affects the central nervous system and is a terminal condition. Funds being raised locally are to enable Dudley's family to enjoy some memorable days out.
The youngsters walked approximately one mile to the nature reserve where they enjoyed a snack before returning to the pre-school.
The walk was followed by a coffee afternoon and cake sale in the village hall, which raised more than £500.
