STIMULATED by Rupert Powell's letter of May 7 I feel compelled to write to remind all like-thinking folk that time is getting near for us all to show that we feel the same, and strongly object to being told by Europe which flag we must fly.

On St George's Day, I had great pleasure in flying that particular flag from my ­window.

I, and I'm sure many others of our countryman, abhor the infringement and enforcement that is being imposed upon us; our freedom is being eroded and our nationality obliterated. I plead with you to put a stop to this.

The only means of halting this is by joining and actively supporting the United Kingdom Independent Party. It is the only party that is promising to bring us out of Europe in their manifesto. Do please make a commitment now to save our British nation. It's our bounden duty.
