EVELYN and Eric Latter had a lovely day celebrating their sapphire wedding anniversary on Saturday, November 4.

They had a delicious lunch at the New Inn with their family and this was followed by tea and cakes at their home where friends and neighbours were able to ‘pop in’ for a chat and refreshment. Eve and Eric were married on November 8, 1952, at Gillingham Parish Church and moved to Garston, Hertfordshire, in 1956 where they lived happily for many years. They moved to Holsworthy in 2003 and then Kilkhampton in 2005.

They have been active members of the Kilkhampton Gardening Club and (then) Mothers’ Union as well as helping with the local magazine, and participating in many social events.

They have two children, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
