A CHARITY runner from Fifield set off from Tenby last weekend with the aim of reaching another coast in Lowestoft in just 15 days.

Fifty-two-year-old Michael Wadley has embarked on the challenge of running 374 miles to raise cash for cancer charity, The Pelican Foundation, which is dedicated to curing and improving the quality of life for patients with bowel cancer, prostate cancer and bladder cancer.

Michael, who lost his father to cancer last year, said he wanted to take on a fundraising challenge that would hopefully capture the interest of potential donors.

"I always had Tenby in mind for this challenge and running from West Wales to the eastern-most point of England, seemed to be like a fitting idea," he said.

Michael, who set himself a target of raising £2,000 for charity, has already passed that mark, but hopes that people will continue to donate to his worthwhile cause and charity.

He aims to complete 26 miles every day to finish the solo run in just over two weeks.
