THE Camelford branch of the Royal British Legion will be partaking in Remembrance commemorations this year with a memorial walk across Roughtor.
The branch are hoping people will come along to the ‘Poppy Memorial Walk’ to commemorate the lives lost during past conflicts. Meeting at Roughtor car park, the now annual walk will take place on Saturday, November 9 from 10am with the walk starting at 11am.
Julian Harman, from Camelford RBL, said: “This event was started about four years ago with just six of us doing it and it’s grown ever since, with one year seeing over 100 in attendance.
“There will be a donation bucket for anyone wishing to pop something in for the Poppy Appeal, but it’s basically a nice community opportunity for people to come together and pay their respects to those who sacrificed everything for freedom.”
