A GROUP of Rotarians are raising money to provide water-purifying equipment for African villages.
Chair of Launceston Rotary's International committee Barrie Boundy, Richard Ilsley and Paul Smith cycled to Land's End and back on a static bicycle in the Tesco foyer, last Thursday.
With the help of one of the Tesco managers, they completed the challenge and by cycling over a six-hour period they reached more than 230 miles.
Fellow Rotarians collected donations from willing shoppers.
Rotarians raised £415 towards their £1,000 target, which will allow them to buy four Community Aquaboxes to send to four African villages.
