HUNDREDS of Christmas lunches were enjoyed across the area over the festive period.
Members of Launceston Rotary Club and the town council served lunches to 130 people in Launceston Town Hall. The event was 'masterminded' by Cllr Margaret Young, who also did most of the cooking. Despite an oven breaking down she and her team managed to produce an excellent lunch for locals who are on their own, or have served the town over the years.
Rotarian, Peter Casey said: "Launceston Rotary Club was happy to support the event with £500 from the Community Shop profits and it was fun to help to serve the food while local musician Rob Parkin played Christmas music on the piano.
