MEMBERS of Camelford Rotary Club recently visited the Merlin MS Centre to hand over a cheque for £500 as a charitable donation.
The centre, based in Hewas Water near St Austell, is an independent Cornish charity supporting those affected by Multiple Sclerosis, a neurological condition which affects the nerves in the brain and spinal cord, causing a wide range of symptoms, including problems with muscle movement, balance and vision.
Cornwall has one of the highest rates of MS in mainland Britain, with more than 1,000 people diagnosed in the county.
The centre provides expert therapies, support and advice for MS clients as well as those with other neurological conditions.
