Dear Editor, I found your article about Ross weather station and the siren very interesting. There was something comforting about hearing the siren go off every Wednesday at 12 noon.

I enclose some photos of myself and my farther dismantling the old station in the early 1980s.

Editor' note:? Extensive research (actually a few minutes on Google) revealed that air raid sirens used during World War II were still tested regularly until the 1950s and 1960s. If anyone has any more information about the siren, used as an early warning system in case of air raids and attacks, the Ross Gazette would be pleased to receive it by email at [email protected]">[email protected]
