THERE will be some design options for the roof of Camelford’s bandstand, for the town council’s September meeting, it is hoped.
Camelford Town Council discussed plans to replace the roof of the bandstand at their meeting on August 3.
Cllr Rob Rotchell, mayor, told the meeting that the original plans had been acquired, and that they have been sent to Cllr Andy Shaw to look at.
Speaking of potential plans, Cllr Shaw said: “We’ll probably get it made more local. I’d like a gentleman from Boscastle to design something similar to (the original design).”
Cllr Rotchell said: “I think we should say that by the September meeting, we will have some options to consider. We should agree that it goes on the agenda for the September 4 meeting, and that we have at least two to look at.
“There’s an issue around the floor, so we’ll hold off on that.”
Town clerk, Esther Greig, said she is due to go to the site and measure the area, and will need to produce pictures of it.
Bringing this discussion to a close, Cllr Rotchell added: “We need to agree what to do with the bandstand first, then plan it, so if we need to shut the entrance to the park, we can.”
