LAUNCESTON made the most of the final days of summer with a free party for all ages held in the town square on Saturday.
The Rockabilly End of Summer Party was the last in a run of free festivals organised by Firebrand Bar & Restaurant.
Organiser Tash Squires said: “It’s been a brilliant summer for the town with local people enjoying weekend after weekend of live music, entertainment and fantastic food and drink. We wanted to do something a bit different to round things off and a 1950s rockabilly theme proved to be a perfect fit for a family-friendly event.”
Toddlers and children played with giant Jenga and noughts and crosses as their parents enjoyed drinks from Firebrand Brewing Co, Penpont Brewery and Clio’s Van du Vin.
Firebrand Bar & Restaurant chefs cooked up a mouth-watering combination of 1950s food and Cornish barbecue made from quality local ingredients.
Bude Jive Club showed the crowds how to dance and live music from rockabilly bands Los Limpos and Delta 88 provided the opportunity to put their new knowledge into practice.
Restaurant owner Joe Thomson thanked the people of Launceston for their support as the venue approached its one-year anniversary.
“When we opened Firebrand we wanted to create a family-friendly restaurant and bar which played a real role in the community and helped make Launceston an even better place to live,” he said.
