GOOD audiences attended the pantomime in Rilla Mill recently, which was written by Christine Hordley with her usual wacky story-line, the title this year being ‘Robin and the Hoods’.

The pantomime included a dash of Shakespeare, a dollop of Robin Hood, a few tablespoons of Downton Abbey, a drizzle of Frozen seasoned with a hint of The Mafia and topped off with a Penguin — oh yes it was!

Members of the cast played their parts well as always and congratulations were expressed to them all; Lucas Drayton (Robin Hood), Darren Bolt (Briar Tuck), Andrew Davy (Marion), and Ella Drew who bravely stepped in at short notice as Wilma Scarlett, originally played by Marita Mitchell who had to pull out due to health reasons.

Other parts were played by; Russ Hanson, Bill Thynne, Donna Plant, Michelle Pierce, Simon Hordley, Chris Boarland, Rebecca Thom, Ian Purvis, Allana Hansell, and Mike Todd. Members of the ‘Penguin Ice Patrol’ were Jan Travis, Fiona Purvis, Christine Hordley and Isabelle Thom.

Thanks are also extended to the members of the crew; George Drew (sound and lighting), Shirley Thynne (pianist), Piers Freeman (stage manager), Tracey Boarland (prompt), Joy Dent and Fran Jones (costume), Mike Todd and Piers Freeman (props), and Emma Thomas (scenery).

Special thanks also went to David Lobban, Judith Pile and Kevin Gilbert for being subs, Jon and Sandy Dale and Amy Souch at the Manor House Inn for ticket sales, Britanny Ferries for generous support for the raffle, Lisa Drew for production and design of tickets, Jollygoodshow for poster design, and Deni James for promotion.

It was directed by Joy Dent and donations were given to Access Theatre based in Launceston, a theatre company for adults with learning disabilities, and to Rilla Mill Village Hall.
