Tuesday's competition for Launceston Golf Club Men's Seniors was an individual stableford played in three divisions:

0-14 Handicap: 1st, B Goble 35pts; 2nd, P Hayne 35pts; 3rd, M Gee 34 pts.

15-19 Handicap: 1st, T Spooner 38pts; 2nd, J Swiss 35pts; 3rd, M Philps 35pts.

20+ Handicaps: 1st, A Minett 39 pts; 2nd, A Japes 36pts; 3rd, J Dunn 35pts

Following the competition was a Seniors match v St Enodoc. Rob Loughran, one of the early starters in the Seniors Competition was greeted as he walked off the 18th green with a request to play in the match. Thanks Rob, especially as this was your first ever 36 holes in one day.

Once again the captain was in a losing pair despite playing 5 under his handicap. The result was a 5-3 win to Launceston, the same score as in the away match.

On Friday the Seniors played against St Austell at Launceston. This was the first match this year played in wet and windy conditions. Tim Johnson, still waiting for his first hole in one, had a near miss on the ninth when his ball hit the flag and ended up outside the hole.

The air ambulance was brought in to assist one player and at the time of writing this report, he is recovering. Best wishes for a quick recovery Terry.

Launceston Ladies

On Thursday last a 4BBB was played with partners drawn and 2 scores to count. There some fantastic scores recorded, and we were lucky to get in before the rain came in.

1st, Teona Chegwyn, Penny Leaver, Joy Cole and Catherine Slee 94pts; 2nd, Elaine Thomas, Heather Saxon, Cheryl Howard and Bridget Hayes 82pts on back 9; 3rd, Sandra Hazell, Val Raine, Janis Lawrence and Adele Fletcher 82pts. Over thirty ladies played with several new members joining in, well done to them.
