AYAZ Sheikh has recently visited Bude as part of his aim to visit 25 former Radio 1 roadshow resorts throughout the UK, in an effort to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Ayaz will visit former Radio 1 roadshow resorts up until Friday, September 2, and visited Bude on August 18 to mark 28 years since Radio 1 was there.
Funds raised from this event will be used to support the work of Cancer Research UK.
The main goal of Cancer Research UK’s Clinical Centre at St James’ Hospital, Leeds, is to translate laboratory-based discoveries into new treatments for patients.
In partnership with the NHS and University of Leeds, the 150 staff include many research scientists and doctors funded by Cancer Research UK, working in the centre’s laboratories and with cancer patients attending the hospital.
Areas of research include clinical trials, psychosocial oncology, cancer medicine, biological and immunotherapy work, genetic research and screening.
