ROBERT Bulgin from Port Isaac has been named in the New Year's Honours List for his charitable services with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
Mr Bulgin, aged 76, who is chairman of the Port Isaac fundraising branch of the RNLI, has been awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM).
Port Isaac has a resident population of just over 700, but over the seven years since he became chairman of the RNLI fundraising branch, Robert has raised £180,000 for the charity through his enthusiasm, determination and hard work.
He and his dedicated team have arranged numerous balls, auctions, lotteries and tea parties to keep the charity at the forefront of people's minds.
