CHRIS Boundy and John Dugard, the first RNLI lifeguards to receive the charity's Silver Medal for Gallantry for saving the life of a sea angler, were presented with a formal record of their medal awards inscribed on Vellum at a low key ceremony at the site of the rescue in Trebarwith recently.
Ian and Jane Watkins from Broadstairs in Kent were also presented with a framed letter of thanks from RNLI Chairman, Admiral the Lord Boyce, in recognition of the role they played in the rescue.
Chris and John received their Silver Medals at the RNLI's Annual Presentation of Awards at the Barbican Centre in London in May this year. The records they were presented with on Tuesday at a quiet ceremony among friends and family at Trebarwith Surf Life Saving Club are a formal account of their medal rescue from the RNLI Trustees, inscribed on Vellum.
