MEMBERS of Tintagel Bell Ringers entertained their families and friends to a Christmas meal on Friday evening at Tintagel Arms Hotel.

Guests included ringers from other towers who offer their services to help ring for weddings and other celebrations, and Mr and Mrs Roy Sanders, of Launceston.

Roy was of great support to a previous captain, the late Leyton Denford, when he revived the ringing spirit in Tintagel after a lull of several years.

Roy also attended in his official role as chairman, Northern District Truro Diocesesan Guild of Ringers and in this capacity he secured and made the surprise presentation of a certificate signed by the Bishop, the Rt Rev Tim Thornton, to Mike Jory, the current Tintagel Tower Captain, in recognition of more than 60 years of ringing.
