THE annual Festival for the Patron Saint of St Breward Church, Saint Branwallader, is always a marvellous community occasion and this year was no exception.
The church was, as usual, packed, and thanks were expressed to Worship Leaders Lorelei Stanton, from St Breward and Jackie Adie from Blisland, for putting together such an excellent service.
Members of St Breward WI offered two very amusing items, one a poem by Dorothy Grunsdon and the other a reading of Fezziwig’s Ball, by Christine Woolf, Bonny Bryan and Marilyn Hunter.
The Handbell Ringers, as The Silver Belles performed an amusing sketch and then the Guide Leaders were a bit more serious with their timeline overview of the history of Guiding. Thanks were expressed to them all for their participation, adding greatly to the enjoyment of all and especially to St Breward Silver band — their music making is always a delight!
They were joined on this occasion by members of Camelford Town Band and St Minver Silver Band, and thanks were expressed to them for helping to swell the numbers — and not forgetting the hardworking team who put together the wonderful Revel feast served afterwards in the village hall!
