TORRIDGE District Council is urging residents to stop their dogs fouling streets and instead use the dog bins provided after being alerted to a major dog fouling incident in Holsworthy.
The council's Clean Neighbourhoods Officer, Dean Smith, has been working closely with the police in the historic market town to help stamp out dog fouling on the paths and walkways, and was alerted to this latest incident by Holsworthy Town PCSO Emma Tomkies.
She said: "I was patrolling around the Waitrose car park area and noticed a proliferation of dog faeces on the path leading down to the livestock market and along the lane towards the Coles Mill viaduct. I have worked in partnership with Torridge District Council before, so I immediately rang Dean and we arranged to meet there to see what could be done."
