A PLANNING application for a 200ft wind turbine to be located in a field between Red Post and Launcells has caused outrage amongst nearby residents.
Proposed is the erection of a 'single wind turbine with a maximum blade tip height of 60.98 metres, widening of an existing access onto the public highway and associated infrastructure' on land east of Prustacott Road.
The application was submitted by Mr and Mrs Allin of Prustacott Farm and Windberry Energy Operations Ltd.
Consideration is currently being given to the application, and there is a consultation period of 21 days in which members of the public's objections can be sent to Cornwall Council.
A Launcells Action Group has been formed in response, and has received support from nearby village associations.
At a parish council meeting held on Friday evening, some residents attended to raise the matter, which was not on the agenda. As a result of discussions after the meeting Cornwall Councillor Paula Dolphin was asked to take the application to the authority's planning committee, and she in turn requested a parish council representative attend to represent those who have expressed opposition and concern. The parish council agreed to meet again as soon as it has received the application.
