CALLS to reopen a key road into a parish near Holsworthy have been made by businesses and residents after the council closed it more than a year ago because of severe damage. Devon County Council closed a road into Hollacombe after it was deemed too unsafe for vehicles to use. Although the village has three other routes, residents say the closed road is the quickest and safest as it is flat. Resident and Tredown Landrovers business owner Tim Selwyn buys and sells products for the 4x4 company. This year the company has made more suspension-related repairs than it has in the last ten years. He said: "We are putting more and more suspension components in and repairs over the last year, because of the state of the roads."
