MAKE your views known' — those are the words from opponents to plans for a £30-million, eleven-turbine wind farm in North Cornwall.
Community power was evident at a meeting last Thursday organised by Communities Against Rural Exploitation (CARE) in response to Good Energy's Big Wind Farm proposal.
Good Energy submitted plans for the 125m-high wind turbines spanning five parishes — Week St Mary, Jacobstow, Warbstow, North Petherwin and Whitstone — at the end of February.
Since then it has been rallying support from its customers and received more than 100 letters in favour from people across the country.
The meeting, in Week St Mary Parish Hall, was chaired by resident Mike Goodman and heard from speakers, Bob Barfoot environmental and planning consultant, Penny Mills, chair of Devon and Torridge Campaign to Protect Rural Energy (CPRE) and Jeremy Ward, CARE committee member.
