A TYRE of a vehicle was damaged recently in Launceston police report, as people living in a residential area of the town are sharing reports of further vandalism to cars.

Police received a report of damage by an unknown offender to a tyre of a vehicle parked in Haye Common Drive.

The incident occurred between 5pm and 7pm on Thursday, February 23.

Residents are asked to report any suspicious activity via 999 if offenders are still in the area, or using email [email protected] for any other information.

Anyone with information about this particular incident should contact police quoting reference number CR/13664/17.

People living in the residential area behind the Lidl supermarket have taken to social media, reporting that cars have been ‘keyed’ in the area.

A spokesperson for Launceston Police said: “We have been getting reports from members of the public about some damage to vehicles on the Kit Hill estate behind Lidl.

“If you have suffered any damage please repot it via the 101 phone number or you can email the details to our non-emergency email: [email protected]

One resident wrote on Facebook on Thursday, February 23: “Just heard about another ‘car keying’ on development behind Lidls. The victim a visitor who had parked legally and considerately.”

Barry Elms took to Facebook on February 13 sharing a photograph of his ‘keyed’ car, that he said had been damaged ‘front to back down the driver’s side’.

He said: “We are in Kit Hill View, also behind Lidl; a number of local cars have been keyed in the last couple of months, ours was scratched (very deep) overnight on February 12, which we reported to the police.”
