THE Chairman of the Stourscombe Residents' Association, Launceston, has described as 'unfair' the payments some homeowners are having to make towards communal sites in the area.
One of the first problems apparent to the Stourscombe Residents' Association upon its establishment centred around the role of the Meadfleet Management Company. It was set up by housing developer Redrow to manage the communal areas and walkways around 64 of the 174 new properties built at the estate.
Upon purchasing one of these 64 homes, buyers had to agree to pay a fee of £75 per year, paid half yearly, for maintenance and upkeep of these areas. Residents of properties who don't have to pay this fee, however, are free to use the communal locations dotted around Stourscombe, which the SRA has denounced as unbalanced.
