CORNWALL Council has now published on its website and in the press a notice stating that an application has been made to the Commons and Greens office by Woburn Residents' Association under section 15(2) of the Commons Act 2006, to register the land known locally as Woburn Green, Launceston, as a town and village green.

This notice can be inspected at the Cornwall Council One Stop Shop on Market Street, Launceston.

Representations are now invited from parties to either support or oppose this notice. Phil Wagstaff of the residents' association said he has it on very good authority that Cornwall Council will oppose this application, as they would like to sell the land to a developer to build houses.

This would mean losing one of the last green spaces of amenity land in Launceston that can be used by children, where dog walkers can exercise their dogs and people can just enjoy this lovely area with its mature colourful trees, flowers and wildlife.
