AN UNEXPECTED turn-out of more than 50 supportive residents and local business owners gathered together to celebrate the opening of the Launceston Tourist Information Centre (TIC) at its new premises in the White Hart Arcade.

The new location of the TIC, which is now managed by Launceston Town Council, was officially opened at 3pm by Malcolm Bell, of Visit Cornwall. After Mayor of Launceston, Cllr Rob Tremain extended a warm welcome to all who had attended. Mr Bell spoke of the potential of Launceston's tourism industry and how it is part "of the real Cornwall".
