A DOG with severe hip problems abandoned in Holsworthy has been given a new home and is now helping her owner to laugh again.

Dolly was found in Holsworthy as a stray. Along with hips problems she was bred from a number of times.

She was taken into care by Dogs Trust Ilfracombe, who said it was once of the most severe cases of hip dysplasia vets had seen.

Sadly this means that many of her puppies will have inherited the painful condition.

Emma Middleton from Bude has rehomed Dolly.

She suffers herself from a long standing neurological disorder and knows all too well what it is like to have mobility issues.

She said: "I have never really been a doggy person but after my children left home and there was a rapid deterioration in my health they felt a dog would be good for me."
