ST Joseph’s School has once again been ranked first in Cornwall for GCSE results, with 96% of pupils attaining five or more A* to C grades including Maths and English.

The school said as this was its first mixed year group, the results are even more impressive.

Maintaining its outstanding record for topping the Cornish league tables, in results published last week by the Department for Education, ensures St Joseph’s reputation for academic excellence remains as strong as ever.

Headteacher Oliver Scott said: “I am truly delighted to see the hard work of the children and staff can be seen by all. It also shows just how well we have worked to become a mixed school, and for the first mixed cohort to improve on the results of our final all girls year is even more exceptional.

“St Joseph’s is about providing children with the key skills and confidence to become independent learners, and with our small class sizes and belief in motivating every child, the results are there for all to see.

“Well done to all the boys and girls of the St Joseph’s class of 2015.”
